I became a therapist to crack the code of healing. I learned that growing up in unhealthy environments and surviving trauma did not define a person's destiny or who they would become. The secret sauce was support. As I gained wisdom through my own life experiences, a deep desire grew to help others conquer the shame, fear, doubt, and abuse they've experienced because they had no safe space to be seen or feel heard. I became the support for many and connected them with external resources of support so that they could believe it was possible to live a life filled with freedom, joy, and peace. I am living proof that healing and true happiness is real and so are the successes of my clients I have had the pleasure of supporting!
MY APPROACH TO THERAPY
I specialize in accelerated recovery from depression, effective management of stress, and equipping clients with powerful strategies to heal trauma through a strong therapeutic alliance. I believe that everyone deserves a space to be authentically themselves in a non-judgmental, safe, and supportive environment so the inner work can be done without hesitation or distraction. My goal is for individuals to have a life-changing therapy experience where they achieve optimal functioning once treatment is complete. I fight ALONGSIDE my clients and FOR my clients to experience the change they seek. Some of my orientations include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Existential Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Solutions Focused Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Strengths-Based and Psychodynamic techniques.

People call me the "Mama Whisperer"
Because I am a mother who has served mothers for 17 years, I have an innate ability to hear what other mothers aren't saying. I can relate in a deeper way to the emotional aches and pains of mothers struggling with depression because I was once her. Through my dynamic coaching methods, I helped over 200 mothers evolve into the healed version of themselves in a record-breaking two-and-a-half years time span. I do this by providing life-long strategies that comfort and guide them beyond a conversation. I have worked with mothers in medical, education, nonprofit, and government settings from the teen mom to the empty nester and every mom in between. I connect with the hearts and minds of mothers in a way that has cultivated healing generational trauma and fostered generational change.
I have co-hosted online mental health segments for mothers, been featured on podcasts, conducted workshops for organizations, and created a podcast called "Ask Coach Ashley". When mothers are stuck from years of trauma and abuse, I help them become transformed into powerful, high-vibrational women right from their phones.
I have over 20 years of experience in the health and human services field. I am an innovative strategist who utilizes social work best practices to effectively address the mental health needs of individuals, communities, and organizations responding to mental health crises. I specialize in program development and served as an expert trainer and consultant for Yale University School of Public Health’s ELEVATE Policy Lab assisting in the expansion of their maternal mental health initiative across the U.S. I have also partnered with organizations such as March of Dimes, the Stork’s Nest, and Zeta Phi Beta DC Chapter to provide workshops and training on maternal mental health in addition to other community organizations.
